- - Documents received after the given deadline, due to any reason, will not be accepted unless the deadline is extended.
- (1) An abstract is a single paragraph, without subheadings, indentations, and references.
- (2) It should be an explicit summary of your presentation that includes the problem, the objectives, the methods used, and the major results, and conclusions.
- (3) It should be typed in 11-point Times New Roman, single-spaced for Main Body and 12-point Times New Roman, centered text in bold for Title. Do not include bullet points or lists in the abstract. If there is a need to cite references, please provide the sources in brackets.
- (4) Title formatting guidelines for abstract are:
- capitalize the first word of the title and the first word of any subtitle (after a colon, dash, etc.)
- capitalize all major words in the title (i.e., nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns, and words of four letters or more)
- capitalize the second part of hyphenated major words (e.g., “Self-Report”)
- lowercase minor short words (i.e., conjunctions of three letters or fewer; prepositions of three letters or fewer; and articles “a,” “an,” and “the”)
- also capitalize “is” and “be” (because they are verbs) and “with” (because it has four letters).
- (5) Acronyms should be written in full, the first time they are mentioned in the text, then followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.
- (6) Use only the SI units.
- Use a negative exponent (e.g. kgm-3) and do not indicate units as divisions (e.g. kg/m3)
- Chemical formulae should be written in standard forms as in “CaCO3”, not as “CaCO3”
- Use a zero before decimal points as in “0.45,” not “.45.”
- (7) Be sure to adhere to the word limitation for the abstract (175 -275 words).
- (8) Keywords should be presented leaving one-line space below the abstract.
